Amberleigh Sauer, Weightlifting

Amberleigh Sauer is our female student-athlete for the month of January. Amberleigh has lettered in Track all four years at DeLand High School. She also lettered in Basketball her Junior Year and Weightlifting this year. Amberleigh went to States last year for Shotput and Discus in Track & Field. She placed 9th in Shotput and 12th in Discus. This year, she is going to States for Weightlifting (placed 5th in Regionals) in the 199 Weight Class. She hopes to head to States again in Track this season. She is the Historian for the Communications Club and is part of the Academy. Amberleigh has over 200 hours of community services and handing out water for the local 5Ks. She is a senior-leader with a 3.61 GPA. Amberleigh is going to Embry Riddle on a Track Scholarship to study Homeland Security. She plans to join the FBI or DOD.
