Bio

Sebastian Singletary, currently Athletic Director and Physical Education teacher at Stetson Baptist Christian School successfully lead a Christ-centered physical education department as well as athletic department.  Sebastian developed  and implemented the physical education and health curriculum for Pre-K thru 8th grade. Administrated the scheduling, budget, team travel and development of all sports teams.

 

Sebastian Singletary Previously he spent two years on staff at Daytona State College season as an assistant coach with the Falcons. At Daytona, Singletary held the top assistant position and oversaw the Falcon’s player development, opponent scouting, scheduling and recruiting coordination of Daytona  national recruiting effort. During the two years in Daytona Beach, Fl., Singletary helped to coach and recruit 8 all conference performers and 10 all academic and a first team all-league selection.

 

Prior to joining the Falcons staff, Singletary served 8 seasons as and assistant coach/ 2 as recruiting coordinator at Stetson University under head coach Derek Waugh. In his 1st full season as recruiting coordinator Singletary put together the top recruiting class in the Atlantic Sun Conference. During Singletary time at Stetson University he coach 38 all conference academic honors and 7 all conference performers.   

After graduating from Stetson in 2001, Singletary played three seasons of professional basketball internationally. In 2001, Singletary averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds per game with Calpe Aguas in Spain. He was named Player of the Week three times and Player of the Month once. In 2002, he played for the Universidad de Conception in Chile, and in 2003, he played for Herens Basket in Switzerland.

A three-year starter and two time 1st team all-conference performer for the Hatters, Singletary averaged 14.2 points and 9.0 rebounds during his career. As a sophomore he was tied for conference leader in rebounding. As a junior he led the conference and ranked 21st nationally with an average of 9.3 rebounds per game. He also scored at a 15.3 ppg clip and was selected first-team all-conference.

As a senior Singletary helped lead the Hatters (17-12) to the semifinals of the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament for the first time in seven years. Along with teammate Santos Hampton, Singletary led the league and ranked 28th in the nation with a 9.2 rebounding average. He was again named first-team all-conference.

Singletary was also an All-State performer in his one season at Central Florida Community College. He averaged 16.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per game and helped lead the Patriots to a 19-11 record. A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Singletary was a four-time team MVP at Andrew Jackson High School.

Singletary and his wife, Deborah, have a daughter Jordan, age 11, Bryanna, age 5 and stepdaughters Ivana, age 21, and Hannah, age 19.
