Bio

I have coached swimming for 43 years. Although I did not swim on a college or high school swim team, I competed in club swimming.  As a high schooler, I played on the varsity field hockey team. My three daughters were club swimmers, swam throughout high school. My oldest daughter swam in college. When I started coaching years ago, I had a great deal to learn. I have attended numerous coaching clinics and have kept abreast of the latest coaching techniques over the last four decades. In Louisiana, I coached the University High(the Laboratory School for Louisiana State University) swim team. We won state four times. There, I was coach of the year five times, and was inducted into the Athletic Coaches Hall of Fame. I moved from Louisiana to DeLand ten years ago. Since then, I have built the Deland High Swim team from 10-55 swimmers. Our team is a fun yet competitive team. The swimmers are highly motivated.
