Newly Appointed Girls Soccer Coach Stephen Cochran Brings In a Lot of Experience

On behalf of the DeLand High School Athletics Department please join us in welcoming the new leader of the Girls Soccer Program. 

Coach Stephen Cochran has been involved with soccer since he was a child.  Directly after completing his college career, he played at the semi-professional level in California for 10 years, from 1986-1995. 

Coach Cochran began his career leading youth soccer in 1986 in Northern California and has been coaching ever since.  In 1986, he began coaching club soccer and continued for 20 years in both California and Florida.  Coach Cochran began his high school coaching career in 1989 where he has won multiple district and regional championships.

Coach Cochran has been a coach for the US Olympic Development program since 1990.  He has attained the A-level coaching license from US Soccer and has been an instructor and mentor for other coaches attempting certification.

Given his level of expertise, we look forward to watching his program flourish and wish to Congratulate him on his new position!!
