Palmer Swings For Navin

In late December, down in Miami one of DeLand High's own will participate in the "Power Showcase". This event showcases the top power hitters from around the world in their respective age groups. Nathan Palmer, a sophomore, will represent DeLand High and the state of Florida in this showcase. 

     The best part about this showcase is that Nathan is not just swinging for himself. Each player is paired up with a child who has a serious or terminal illness, and each home run the player hits will raise money for the child and their family. Nathan's family is close with Jamie and Mike Otway. The Otway's son Navin (9), a big sports fan, has been diagnosed with Hemophilia.  Navin stopped by practice on Monday (11/2) to meet the team and take a few pictures with Nathan.
