Deland High School Girls Golf
Golf at Deland has a proud Heritage.
We have had previous male and female students receive scholarships to play golf at the collegiate level. Golf is offered during the Fall Season and tryouts begin with the start of each school year. Our home course is the beautiful Victoria Hills Golf Club.
In order to participate please be sure to have an updated physical form and other related paperwork completed. In addition, athletes must pay to participate at a fee of $75 for 1st sport and $25 (which covers up to 2 more sports).
Summer practice/camp schedule:
This Summer Victoria Hills is offering unlimited play after noon on weekdays and unlimited range ball for only $99 for anyone trying out for the girls Golf Team. Players are encouraged to take advantage of this and practice on their own as much as possible.
The team will also practice once a week on the range for instruction. Practice will be on (Tuesdays) the time TBA.
Also this summer Girls are encouraged the Join the Volusia/Flagler Junior Golf Association and participate in the association’s sponsored 9 and 18 hole tournaments
This is a great program for High School Golfers. You will play double par pick-up so you won’t have super high scores. You’ll play a bunch of different courses, meet a lot of other girls and have fun. The tee times start at 7:30 so you are not in the heat for very long.

You can also earn a little money every time they place, and the golfer that comes in first in each age group gets a trophy each week. They also have a point system and there is a banquet at the end of the season and they award the top point getters in each group big trophies. They give chits to use in pro shops. There is probably less pressure on players in the summer as opposed to during golf season.
The application for membership can be found on line and the cost is:
$120 for the 8 tournaments which are 9 holes and held on Mondays.
OUR GOAL
Our goal On the Deland High School Girls Golf in 2016 will be to build a competitive team and have fun while we do it. We want to make sure that each golfer's experience on the team will be memorable and will help them to be better prepared for life after graduation. We encourage all interested students to come out for the team.
We will help players of all ability levels get course ready.
My Goals for Deland Girls Golf Team: (Immediate and 4 Year Goals):
1. Win invitational tournaments (individual and team)
2. All team members shoot below 100 consistently
3. Qualify for the regional golf tournament (individual and team)
4. Win the district tournament title (individual and team)
5. Varsity golfers shoot consistently below 80
6. Best short game in the state
7. School record for lowest team score
8. Be the hardest working team in the state
9. Be the classiest acting team at every tournament we attend
10. State Champs! I look forward to working with you.

Tryouts will begin August 1st Practice will start at 3:30 pm at Victoria Hills and 2:30 on early release practices and run for 2 hours (except match dates).
